NICKEL BELT – GREATER SUDBURY – Today, MP Marc G. Serré delivered opening remarks and led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Northern Ontario Pavilion at the Royal Agricultural Fair. The Royal Agricultural Fair is a time-honored event celebrating Ontario's agricultural heritage, featuring diverse exhibitions, competitions, and activities that showcase the province's farming innovations and local products.
This year's Northern Ontario Pavilion highlights the region's contributions to agriculture, fostering community engagement and collaboration among local producers. The event serves as a platform for networking and sharing best practices, emphasizing the importance of agriculture in sustaining Northern Ontario's economy and culture.
Exibitors including Nickel City Cheese, Ugly Barn Farm, the Jester’s Wonder Emporium from Nickel Belt riding are there showcasing their local goods and innovation. Exhibitors from the Manitoulin region include Finnia Chocolate & Cacao, Heartwood Mushrooms, Island Haskap Berry, Manitoulin Botanicals, Manitoulin Gourmet, Natural Knits, Purvis Fisheries. On June 27 2024, MP Serré had announced $716,800 from FedNor for the Economic Partners Sudbury East/West Nipissing Inc. which is hosting the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion. Since his election in 2015, MP Serré has announced over $3.8 million for the Northern Ontario Agri-Food Pavilion.
"Events like the Royal Agricultural Fair are vital for showcasing what we do best in Northern Ontario and fostering connections within our agricultural community," said MP Serré. “FedNor’s investments truly help businesses find new markets so they can continue to grow,” he added.
MP Serré was also on hand with the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, during the official kick of the Royal Agricultural Winter fair.
