Today Marc G. Serré, MP for Nickel Belt, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Official Languages is sharing that Minister Guilbeault’s Environment and Climate Change Youth Council applications are now being accepted.
The Environment and Climate Change Youth Council provides non-partisan advice to the Minister and senior departmental executives on key environmental and climate issues. 12 youth (Canadian citizens and permanent residents ages 18-29,) will be selected to join.
Past members have had the opportunity to brief Prime Minister Trudeau, attend international conferences, and provide feedback to decision makers on many issues including the Climate Literacy Strategy, the Environmental Racism strategy, and Canada’s net-zero strategy.
It is also an opportunity to meet likeminded youth, policymakers, and learn more about environmental issues facing our country and our government’s policies to solve them.
Applications can be submitted until April 26, 2024.
