Today Marc G. Serré, MP for Nickel Belt, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Official Languages is sharing that the Supporting Black Canadian Communities Initiative (SBCCI) has recently launched a Call for Proposals through its National Funders program.
Through this call for proposals, registered non-profit Black-led and Black-serving organizations can apply for up to $105,000 in funding. Projects may include improving their workplaces and community spaces, purchasing work-related equipment, and undertaking renovations of existing spaces to enhance their functionality. A total of $21.5 million will be made available in this round of funding.
The SBCCI is an initiative instituted as part of the Prime Minister’s recognition of the UN International Decade for People of African Descent, or UNDPAD. The SBCCI is intended to celebrate, share knowledge and build capacity in Canada’s vibrant Black Canadian communities.
