Today, Marc G. Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Official Languages shared that the New Horizons for Seniors (NHS) Program- Community-Based Projects is now accepting applications until September 14^th, 2023, at 3:00pm.

Eligible organizations can apply for up to $25,000 for projects that support and promote the wellbeing of seniors.

Some eligible costs include:

• renovations and repairs to facilities owned by the organization that specifically run programs and activities for seniors
• funds to organize weekly in-person sessions for seniors to provide them with support or training and the opportunity to socialize
• capital assistance for age-friendly exercise equipment that would make it easier for seniors to remain actively engaged
• funds to teach seniors the tools they need to connect with others online

Since 2016, Nickel Belt has received nearly $500,000 in NHS funding supporting more than 25 local projects.
