Today, Marc G. Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Official Languages shared the launch of the Communities at Risk: Security Infrastructure Program (SIP) application period.
SIP is designed to help communities at risk of hate-motivated crime enhance their security infrastructure.
Funding is available to private, not-for-profit organizations linked to a community at risk of being victimized by hate-motivated crime. Approved projects may receive up to 50 per cent of total project costs, to a maximum of $100,000 per project.
Eligible expenditures under the SIP were previously expanded to include items such as doors, windows, intercoms and public address systems, minor renovations to enhance security, and basic training for staff to respond to a hate-motivated crime.
Applications are being accepted until August 31, 2023. Find out more: https://www.publicsafety.gc.ca/cnt/cntrng-crm/crm-prvntn/fndng-prgrms/scrt-nfrstrctr-prgrm/index.aspx
