Today, Marc G. Serré, Member of Parliament for Nickel Belt and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Official Languages shares that eligible organizations can now get more funding through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) Grant which supports free volunteer tax clinics.
If an organization or community group in Nickel Belt is interested in hosting a free tax clinic, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will work with them and provide support to help run the clinic.
This year, organizations can choose to host in-person or virtual clinics. Volunteers can complete taxes in person or virtually by videoconference, by phone, or through a drop-off clinic.
CVITP is at the heart of the CRA’s commitment to making it easier for Canadians, especially for those from at-risk populations, to access important benefits and credits.
