We are in this together
March 20, 2020

Hello Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury residents. Right now, we are facing a challenging time in regard to COVID-19. More than ever it’s important to come together as a community and that each of us do our part to protect the health and safety of each and every resident.

I would like to reiterate that my team, and our Government is here for YOU. In this time of uncertainty, we are working hard to provide you answers, provide you support and convey to you that we have your back.

As a reminder, our constituency office is not talking walk-ins for an indefinite period of time for the protection of constituents and our staff. However, staff is still working diligently to ensure that your concerns are heard and that we can ensure Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury residents feel supported.

As your MP, I’m working in close collaboration with different Ministries and Federal departments to listen to the expert recommendations to ensure the health and economic vitality of our region. We continue to have daily updates to ensure the best interest of Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury residents. I’m also in constant contact with all Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury mayors, local First Nations leaders, local union leaders and many local businesses.

As the constituency staff work remotely and do thing a little differently, they can take your calls if you choose to leave a detailed voicemail during regular business hours from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 4pm. They will do their very best to return your calls in a timely fashion.

Many are facing difficult circumstances and we want you to know we are here in the best of our capacities.

On a personal level lets continue to take care of one another. Let’s pick up the phone, send an email, catch up with our friends and loved one from a distance as we work to reduce the burden on our health care system. Social isolation and distancing is one of best concrete steps we can take to protect our loved ones and those most vulnerable in society. Canadians are highly advised to avoid non-essential travel.

Finally, a giant thank you to our nurses, doctors, pharmacists, cashiers, janitors, truck drivers, various retail workers, Canada Post workers and all others on the front line dealing with the COVID-19 virus spread. Their dedication and sacrifices are greatly appreciated. Together, we can remain strong and we can remain united as we face this challenge together

Whether you’re looking for information on social distancing, prevention, travel info, or more it’s important to find it from reputable and credible sources. This includes consulting verified sources from all levels of Government, from the World Health Organization, the local Public and District Health Units.
