Hello Nickel Belt Constituents!
Summer is already winding down and MP Serré has been hard at work engaging with his constituents and building a stronger and even more prosperous Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury! August was filled with memorable community events and funding announcements benefitting our region! Here’s a synopsis of what occurred in August:
Important news on the Hill:
- MP Serré organized a meeting on the Hill with Steven MacKinnon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, and municipal representatives from French River, Markstay-Warren, West Nipissing and St.-Charles to discuss the devastating floods of 2019 and how all levels of government can collaborate to improve safety and help protect their municipalities
MP Serré was out and about participating in various events:
- MP Serré attended Feast on the Farm, an annual food festival in West Nipissing
- MP Serré attended the 73rd India Day of Independence celebration in Greater Sudbury
- MP Serré attended the Wahnapitae First Nation annual summer Pow Wow
- MP Serré met Senator Forest-Niesing to discuss opportunities in Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury
- MP Serré visited Place Champlain and Whitewater Residence in Azilda
- MP Serré visited Kate’s Kountry Kitchen
- MP Serré attended the Chuck Labelle concert part of the Café Musique summer concert series
- MP Serré welcomed the Honourable Patty Hadju, Minister of Employment Workforce Development and Labour and hosted a roundtable discussion with local building trade union representatives
- MP Serré visited Canada Summer Jobs employers and youth with Minister Hadju to learn more about their experience with the program
- MP Serré travelled to Spanish, Ontario with Minister Hadju to take part in a funding announcement benefitting infrastructure to improve Northern Ontario
